Summary: Both my husband and I appreciated the knowledge that Elvira passed on to us. Unfortunately, we were there on Dec 24 - that was the worst day to choose since almost all the shops and restaurants were closed due to the christmas holiday. Not to worry - we understood that and will make a note to keep that in mind when visiting Leipzig again. Otherwise, the city has a lot to offer and explore. Hopefully we'll be able to in the future.
